My equipment

As Alfred Einstaed said “The important thing is not the camera, but the eye.” I also believe that it is not necessary to have the best equipment to get the best pictures. In fact, most of the pictures published in this website are made with a modest Canon 600D and amateur lenses like the 50mm 1.8 or the 18-55 that comes with the kit (aka ‘paperweight’).

My first camera was a Canon 450D back in 2010. I learned from 0 and in a self-taught way. Little by little I acquired concepts and entered the world of photography and photo processing with Lightroom or Photoshop. A little later, in 2012, I bought a Canon 600D, with the great advantage that I could record video with it, and at very good quality indeed. I already liked recording and editing videos from before, but at that time I could already make them in a decent way. I started working with Premiere and After Effects to process the videos.

The Canon 600D is the camera that has been with me for several years, until the end of 2019. Now in 2020, I decided to try a full frame, so I opted for a good unit of Canon 6D. I decided on this model because of the good quality/price ratio, the incorporation of WiFi and GPS and the possibility of installing Magic Latern.

Regarding the lenses, I have opted for EF Prime Lenses. Offering a blend of image quality, compact size and wide maximum apertures. Also a good value for money. As a telephoto I use the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM.

At the end of 2018 I bought a drone, specifically the DJI Mavic Pro. I am delighted with it and I enjoy every time I fly it. The images I get are simply spectacular. With a bit of editing there is no video that is not worth it.

Finally, it’s always good to carry a GoPro in the backpack, for those situations where you don’t want to carry a lot of weight or especially to record activities such as snowboarding or downhill cycling.

I like this model of GoPro, the 5 Session, as it is the most compact GoPro ever made, while maintaining good quality and even 4k video.
